Why it exists
I spend my time investing in businesses I actually want to hold: quality companies, private and public, the kind you keep for years. But a quality portfolio shouldn't just sit there appreciating, at least not the public part of it. It should pay you along the way.
Most people feel like they have to choose: own growth and collect no income, or own "boring" income and give up the upside. And a lot of people assume options are gambling. I don't buy either one. A disciplined, rules-based income strategy layered on top of quality holdings gets you both: you keep owning the compounders, and you generate income from them.

That's how I run my own public core. I never found the strategy difficult. Doing it consistently was: staying systematic usually means becoming an options expert or watching the market all day, and I wanted to do neither. So I built myself a tool: my own spreadsheets and rules, turning the disciplined version into a plain-English call on each position every week, no Greek letters, no options chain.

The honest catch
Turning a personal tool into a public product meant confronting every shortcut I'd allowed myself. The strategy logic was straightforward. Everything around it was difficult: being careful about what the product claims, and drawing a bright line between education and advice.
